BiographyI am a licensed psychologist who provides individual, group and couples therapy with a diverse population of clients. My primary areas of interest are insight oriented, psychodynamic psychotherapy in the treatment of depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and grief and loss. I also have experience and training in cognitive-behavioral therapies and relaxation techniques to help treat the symptoms associated with anxiety and depression. My therapeutic style is based on an integrative and holistic approach, where I blend my strong psychodynamic and insight oriented training with more traditionally behavioral and/or mind/body techniques to help clients foster insight, change and growth. I completed my doctoral training at The George Washington University Center for Professional Psychology. This program was, at that time, almost exclusively psychoanalytic in nature, with a specific focus on the study and application of ego psychology and object relation theories of development. In addition to my training in psychotherapy, I received pre and post-doctoral training in forensic psychology and assessment. I completed my post-doctoral fellowship at the Center for Multicultural Training in Psychology at Boston Medical Center. I continue to remain affiliated with The Center for Multicultural Training in Psychology, where I teach the pre-doctoral intern seminar on the Rorschach. |
