Listen to the Shadowboxing Podcast
The vision of the ShadowBoxing podcast is to create a series of intimate, long-form conversations with industry experts, thought leaders, athletes, and innovators about what they’re fighting for and what they’re fighting with. The goal is humble: to show up completely, explore change, and its downstream partner in crime – growth.
A second (but no less important) purpose of the podcast is to have fun. Yes, we will touch on serious topics from time to time, but you can expect a healthy dose of humor to pervade the conversation. Mixing business with pleasure is the name of the game here.

Meet Your Hosts

Dr. Sarah Sarkis, M.A., Psy.D.
Home base: Boston, Massachusetts, USA
By day, I am a licensed psychologist and certified executive coach. Occasionally, you’ll also find me moonlighting as a writer and, now, as a podcaster! I’ve spent 20-plus years in the trenches, exploring every corner of the human psyche. My passion and focus these days is working with CEO’s, athletes, professional coaches, and other executives striving to achieve moonshot dreams. In a nutshell, I consider myself a human performance hybrid: part shrink, part coach, part jedi of the unconscious.

Dr. Chris Bertram, PhD
Home base: Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada
For 25 years, I have straddled the line between the academic and the applied worlds. As an Associate Professor at the University of the Fraser Valley, my academic interests orbit around the concept of stress-resistant learning. I’m obsessed with what learning looks like inside the brain and body, how we can optimize the pre-conditions for it, and how we can organize learning environments such that the skills we are seeking to learn show up when the stakes are high. Out in the applied world, I work as the Senior Director of Applied Neuroscience at EXOS where I get to help some of the world’s top athletes and corporations in their quest to achieve sustainable high performance.
